IJHSB – High School Research – Issues

International Journal of High School Biology (IJHSB) was founded on 28 October 2025 as an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal for student biology. We publish on a rolling basis and compile accepted articles into numbered issues.

  • Submission status: Open year-round.
  • Peer review: Rigorous, educational, and constructive; most first decisions within ~2–6 weeks.
  • Access: Open access online; authors retain rights under the journal’s license.
  • Indexing: We will pursue scholarly indexing suitable for student journals as our archive grows.

Current Issue – 2026 (Forthcoming)

Status: In production.
Scope: All areas of biology and adjacent fields (from theoretical and computational biology to molecular/cellular biology, ecology, neuroscience, epidemiology, public health, and more).
Online First / Early Access: Accepted articles may appear online ahead of the compiled issue. Each article will carry its own citation details (volume, e-location/article ID, year) and later be paginated in the full issue PDF.

Editor’s Note

IJHSB’s inaugural issue showcases original research, reviews, and short communications authored by high-school scholars worldwide. Our goal is to model transparent, reproducible science and to mentor authors through a professional editorial process.

Production & Policies

  • Rolling publication; issue compilation: We aim to post accepted articles promptly online, then aggregate them into issues (e.g., Vol. 1 (2026), Issue 1).
  • Article identifiers: Online articles receive an e-location ID (e.g., e0007) rather than continuous page numbering; compiled PDFs may include page ranges for library convenience.
  • Versioning: Minor post-publication corrections are labeled clearly; substantive changes are issued as formal corrigenda.
  • Ethics & integrity: COPE-aligned practices; originality required; human/animal work must include appropriate approvals/consent.
  • Licensing: Authors may use any consistent reference style; the journal license and reuse terms are stated on each article page.
